Strengthening Communities: SWBCA & Temple University Partnership

The Southwest Belmont Community Association, Inc. (SWBCA) has partnered with University College at Temple University to expand educational opportunities for underserved youth in Philadelphia. Through this collaboration, SWBCA established a $50,000 endowed fund to provide financial assistance for low-income children and students in pre-K through 12th grade to participate in University College-sponsored programs. This partnership aligns with SWBCA’s commitment to youth development and community empowerment.

This partnership supports:

  • Summer camps and pre-college experiences at Temple University Ambler and Main Campus, providing students with access to academic enrichment and leadership development.

  • Community enrichment programs for students in grades pre-K through 12, fostering creativity, critical thinking, and personal growth.

  • STEM and environmental education through Temple Ambler EarthFest, inspiring young learners to explore science, technology, and sustainability.

In addition to these programs, SWBCA has a history of supporting Temple initiatives, including sponsorship of the Temple Ambler in Bloom fundraiser and the Transportation Angels Program, which provides financial aid for schools to attend environmental and STEM events.

By working together, SWBCA and Temple University are expanding access to transformative educational experiences, ensuring that children from diverse backgrounds have the resources and opportunities to thrive.
